Juan Mata has spoken out about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s arrival at Manchester United, claiming he’s happy Jose Mourinho has gone out to sign him.
The big Swede had been ruled out with a serious injury until the new year, but has been working exceptionally hard on his rehabilitation at Carrington and is now expected to be back action in late October.
He scored 28 goals across all competitions last campaign before his season was ended prematurely, however, after silencing critics and proving he has what it takes to perform, there are big hopes for his return at Old Trafford.
Speaking about the move, Mata is delighted with the news about Zlatan.
“Good news for me, we got told,” he said. “Great, obviously everyone knows Zlatan and what he can give us, his personality on and off the pitch, his goals and he can be a big boost for us.
“You can imagine he’s very confident about himself, so he can give us his confidence, he’s a big presence and when he is in the box he can score with his head, with both legs, he’s a great addition.
“So it’s a happy day today.”
The 35-year-old has proven himself on the main stage and he’ll be set for a big role on and off the pitch even if he is playing behind Romelu Lukaku.
