Jose Mourinho insists he does not expect Manchester United to secure a fourth signing before the transfer window closes.
The Portuguese boss was looking for a a centre-back, a defensive midfielder, a winger and a striker ahead of the new season, but the side have failed to recruit a winger with a deal for Ivan Perisic stalling.
Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic have improved the squad dramatically and even though a move for Perisic has not moved forward, the side still look like title contenders.
Speaking about a deal, Mourinho is not optimistic about their chances of making another addition.
“Everyone knows I would like a fourth player and I can’t hide that because I had it in my mind,” he said. “But I am happy if I am not going to have [a fourth player] and I don’t think I am going to have.
“And I was the first to tell my board not to feel any kind of pressure from me in that respect, but probably next summer, I have to try to get a player for a position that I think can make us stronger.”
United have also completed a move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic as he’ll have a big part to play in the second half of the season.
