Manchester United monitoring frustrated Manchester City youngster Jadon Sancho – report

Manchester United are closely monitoring the situation of Manchester City youngster Jordan Sancho, who has hardly been at the club’s facilities since the squad returned from their pre-season tour.

Sancho, regarded as one of the club’s brightest young prospects alongside Phil Foden and Brahim Díaz, was excluded from Man City’s pre-season tour of the United States after indicating he wanted to leave.

The 17-year-old has essentially gone AWOL for the whole of August, failing to show up for training sessions and proving to be uncontactable.

And according to the Telegraph‘s James Ducker, United are among many clubs lining up to secure his signature ahead of an imminent move.

Perhaps an unknown incident has occurred behind the scenes at City that has led to the winger refusing to have any association with the club whatsoever, but the likelihood is that Sancho, perhaps rightly, believes he deserves to be playing first team football as opposed to spending another season with the reserves.

Foden and Diaz have promising careers ahead of them and impressed over pre-season, but Sancho is largely regarded as the academy’s prized asset, and Mourinho could send out a big statement by pinching him from the blue side of the city.
