Manchester United youngster Matty Willock has completed a season-long loan move to Dutch side FC Utrecht.

The 21-year-old has not made his first-team debut for Man United but has been training with Jose Mourinho’s squad, given time on the bench for the Premier League games against West Bromwich Albion in April and Crystal Palace in May.

He joined United in 2012 and established himself as a regular starter for the Under-18s before making the step up to the Reserves.

After scoring a dramatic last-minute winner at Anfield against Liverpool in last term’s Premier League 2 fixtures, he played in the opening two games of this campaign for Ricky Sbragia’s side.

He’s highly-regarded at Old Trafford and everyone will be hoping he gets on well with a successful season in Holland.

Willock is due to initially join Utrecht’s second team squad with a view to being promoted to the senior side and will be hoping to pick up some valuable first-team minutes.

Utrecht also considered several other potential candidates from the same club amid doubts over the future of former Bursaspor target Yassin Ayoub, whose contract is due to expire next year.
