Andreas Pereira has been putting in the hard yards in training for Valencia after joining the La Liga side earlier this month.
The Brazilian, following a positive loan spell with Granada last season, decided to spend another campaign in Spain and joined Los Che on a season-long loan with no option to buy on deadline day.
He enjoyed an enterprising debut against Atletico Madrid, featuring on the left hand side, but has received criticism from Jose Mourinho for opting against fighting for his place at Old Trafford this season.
Pereira, in response, has posted a photo of himself looking focused in training ahead of Valencia’s trip to Levante on Saturday.
There has been a surprising level of resentment towards Pereira’s decision to spend another season away from Man United on loan. Perhaps the point Mourinho made ahead of the clash with Stoke has resonated.
But the reasons behind the move are clear and understandable: any 21-year-old would opt for playing 30 games a season over, say, ten. He developed immensely in La Liga last year and has received a superb chance to do the same again.
He will, no doubt, want to show supporters why he opted for this path during the course of this season.
