Player Ratings: Manchester United 4-0 Crystal Palace

by Sam Peoples

David de Gea 8: A complete spectator. Gets an 8 for being so good looking.

Antonio Valencia 8: Not one mistake from the powerhouse Ecuadorian and our captain on the day.

Phil Jones 7: Looking forward to seeing him rekindle his partnership with Eric Bailly after the international break.

Chris Smalling 7.5: Probably the better of the two centre-backs together. Palace certainly had more chances than I thought they would though.

Ashley Young 8.5: Outstanding cross for Fellaini’s goal. Easily United’s best left-back at the moment.

Marouane Fellaini 10: He just can’t stop scoring. Mourinho has got the best out of him. One of his best performances in a United shirt. He’s getting the full 10!

Nemanja Matic 8: So calming in midfield. Showed great vision and execution too.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan 7: Quiet afternoon for the Armenian. Not a bad performance by any means though.

Marcus Rashford 8.5: Brilliant work for Mata’s opener and stunning cross for Fellaini’s second. Fantastic performance from him.

Juan Mata 8: Great finish to put United 1-0 up. Composed throughout. His first touch is gorgeous isn’t it?

Romelu Lukaku 8.5: Wasn’t his day today until the last five minutes. Was all about Rashford in attack but Lukaku scored when Martial put it on a plate for him.

Subs

Jesse Lingard 7: Not much to say about Lingard. Didn’t get heavily involved when he came on.

Anthony Martial 8: That piece of skill he did when he came on? Outrageous. Gets a 7 just for that alone and then an assist too? Great cameo lad.

Ander Herrera 7: Like Lingard, not overly involved.
