Manchester United’s playmaker Juan Mata has spoken about the Red Devils upcoming trip to Anfield in the Premier League.
Mata will travel with his club after the international break to take on Liverpool in what will surely be a typically ferocious game.
United will be hoping to keep up their recent good form whilst also notching up a win against one of their fiercest rivals.
A defeat for Liverpool will send them tumbling down the table, putting serious pressure on Jurgen Klopp as the Reds currently sit 7th in the league.
Jose Mourinho meanwhile, will be looking to pass his first tough test of the season with flying colours in order to send a warning shot to his title rivals.
Juan has decided to talk about the much anticipated clash on his blog in his latest entry, he wrote: “This is one of the big games of the season without a doubt.
“There’s no need to say what it means for us and for our fans, and I hope that we can play a great game and bring the three points back to Manchester.
“We will try to extend our good run of results since the season started.”
Mata has had a fairly good history in matches at Anfield but none better than the day he scored a brace to have fans mockingly rename the famous stadium ‘Juan-field’.
The Spanish midfielder has featured heavily for Mourinho so far this season, continuing his consistent performances since last year.
In fact, it’s tough for many fans to recall the last game Mata performed poorly in and it’s a credit to the left footed maestro for keeping up his form.
Jose has recognised that the skilled footballer has never let him down during his time at Old Trafford and has since made him a huge part of his plans.
With Liverpool on the horizon both, player and manager will be hoping he puts in the same performance he did the day he grabbed himself a brace. Should he do so, United should cruise to an important win.
