Manchester United complete another youth signing from Huddersfield Town, bringing in Rocco Fregapane

Manchester United have signed England under-15 defender Rocco Fregapane from Huddersfield Town’s defunct academy.

The Terriers’ decision to shut down their academy was revealed recently, and they have seen five of their promising youngsters join Man United’s.

Fregapane had a trial at United’s Carrington Aon Training Complex and did enough to impress coaches and sign for the Reds.

United under-23s striker Josh Bohui joined the club in similar circumstances, arriving from Brentford after they changed the setup of their youth system.

Bohui developing well at United, and put in a fantastic one-man performance to drag United to a 2–2 draw against Benfica in the UEFA Youth League recently, scoring a penalty to make it 2–1 before a remarkable individual goal in the 90th minute to save a point for the Reds away from home.

Bohui held onto the ball for about 10 seconds before striking from outside of the box and in off the post to complete a fantastic comebacks United later on.

At under-18 level, where Fregapane will be playing in a couple of years, United side are blossoming at this stage in the season. Kieran McKenna’s team have won their last two games by scoring six goals in the U18 Premier League, as well as that 2-2 draw against Benfica.
