Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Phil Jones will recover from a hip injury in time to face Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The Englishman, who had been nursing a knock over the week, pulled up with an injury during the early stages of last weekend’s clash with Huddersfield.
His replacement, Victor Lindelof, endured a nightmare introduction to Premier League football with a pair of defensive mistakes that handed the hosts a 2-1 win.
But Mourinho has provided supporters with an important boost by revealing that Jones should be fit to take on Spurs next weekend.

Listen, you should always back your players – especially new ones. But can you really imagine Lindelof going up against Harry Kane without wincing and breaking down into tears?
The Swede needs game time and chances to improve his confidence, but Saturday is not the time for that.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are scoring for fun in the Premier League at the moment and supporters will be desperate to see Jones produce a classic blockbuster defensive display alongside Chris Smalling, with the latter dealing with the visitor’s aerial threat whilst the former refuses to give Kane a moment on his own.
He has proven to be a vital component of Mourinho’s side this season and next weekend’s clash will demand him to be at his very best.
