Celtic’s Moussa Dembele is on Manchester United’s radar according to reports and it appears that Jose Mourinho’s team are favourites to sing the youngster.
The Scottish sides star striker initially transferred from Fulham but it seems that the player is ready to move back to England.
Dembele has impressed in his time since joining Brendan Rodgers’ side, scoring 37 goals in 60 appearances and garnering most of Europe’s biggest clubs’ heads.
The 21 year old player would represent Mourinho’s third striker investment in as many seasons as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku also made the switch to Old Trafford.
If reports are to be believed then Jose seems to be attempting to build a record goal scoring team and is not messing around with his aim of winning titles at the club.
According to the Mirror, it is the Portuguese tactician who is the favourite to land Moussa and will fight off stiff competition from Europe’s best.
Rashford and Martial in particular are seen as the side’s future striker partnership so why would Mourinho invest in another young star for the same position?
However, the ‘Special One’ has flirted with a two striker formation previously so it may make sense to invest to have the numbers needed to compete for titles.
With Ibrahimovic likely to move on after the summer, United will have only three strikers for two positions and will certainly need the depth that Dembele would provide.
