Jose Mourinho open to letting Luke Shaw leave Manchester United on loan – report

Jose Mourinho will sanction a January loan move for Luke Shaw ahead of a permanent transfer elsewhere over the summer, according to reports.

The 21-year-old, despite recovering well from a broken leg, only managed 70 minutes of Premier League action between October and March last season, prompting public criticism from Mourinho with regard to his work rate.

And with Shaw continuing to struggle for minutes under the Portuguese this season, making just two appearances from the bench, reports state that the defender now fears for his future at Old Trafford.

According to The Sun‘s Daniel Cutts, Mourinho will sanction a January departure from the club for Shaw before letting him pursue a fresh start in the summer.

It is no coincidence that, ever since claiming he wasn’t mentally prepared to play in the 3-1 win over Swansea City last November, Mourinho hasn’t handed Shaw more than two starts in a row at United.

He just doesn’t trust him. There are some players who will run through walls made of fire over and over again, and this is what appeals to Mourinho more than anything.

And you can be sure that the 54-year-old doesn’t believe that Shaw firmly doesn’t belong to this category.
