Manchester United fans made their displeasures clear with Henrikh Mkhitaryan after his performance vs Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The Armenian was underwhelming, particularly in the first 45 minutes of the match as his poor form continued.
Most fans were surprised that Jose Mourinho stuck with Mkhitaryan despite Jesse Lingard‘s better run of displays.
Henrikh was operating once more in the number 10 position and although he had two strikers ahead of him, couldn’t find them consistently enough to cause the Blues any serious damage.
The midfield battle was easily won by Chelsea as they often outnumbered the midfield two of Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been anonymous for weeks now. Needs to get his act together. A lack of a number 10 is hindering Manchester United.

We are playing with 9 outfield players. Mkhitaryan is just a spectator running around with players.

Mkhitaryan is there to destroy our attacks….. Secretly working with the enemy

Mkhitaryan getting stick again and it's hard to defend him. Offers nothing really. Needs to up his game massively

How the hell does Mkhitaryan keep getting a start? Been worse than woeful for weeks. Would have Lingard over him every time

Mkhitaryan didn’t drop into midfield enough to support his teammates and didn’t get further forward enough to help his strikers put pressure on a three man backline.
The former Dortmund man has seen a shocking decline of form given his incredible start to the season but it appears Mourinho is ready to let the player play his way out of his rut.
With Lingard sitting on the bench, the Englishman will surely be wondering what more he must do to win his spot back in the starting XI.
A lack of support from midfield has been core to United’s recent indifferent form with the absence of Paul Pogba causing some real damage to the Red Devils title challenge.
At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea clearly showed their experience in a formation that Jose’s men have only used around a handful of times this season.
