According to reports, Jose Mourinho will try to tempt Toni Kroos away from Real Madrid as he aims to reinforce his midfield.
Kroos is now 27 years old and can be described as in the peak of his career so a move now would make the most sense for both parties.
The German international is currently a main stay in the Spanish capital’s club but will surely be a key player for the Red Devils too.
A Paul Pogba, Toni and Nemanja Matic midfield may be too tempting for Mourinho to ignore and opponents may have already lost the match before it even begins should the move happen.
According to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, the former Bayern Munich man has some interest in Manchester United and that may be enough to help Jose conclude a deal.
It will surely take a substantial offer for the transfer to happen but with United’s financial strength, it shouldn’t be too much trouble.
There may have been a time when it wouldn’t have made sense to leave Madrid as the club were winning everything in their path but with Zinedine Zidane’s men struggling this season, Kroos may be tempted to leave before things get even worse.
The Spanish side are currently experiencing a sharp decline in form with Zidane facing the toughest period of his managerial career.
Losing Toni may be an even bigger blow but with Luka Modric, Casemiro, Isco, Marco Asensio and Mateo Kovacic amongst their ranks, Madrid should be able to replace him easily.
