Jamie Carragher believes the return of Paul Pogba from injury will be key to Manchester United.
The Liverpool legend has admitted that Pogba will “add everything” to Man United’s midfield and team.
Pogba’s been unavailable for United since mid-September when he picked up a serious injury just 19 minutes into the Reds 3-0 win against FC Basel in the UEFA Champions League. The Frenchman had been captaining the Reds for the first time.
That came after a superb start to the season in which everything revolved around Pogba as he dominated games for the first time in Red.
“He will add a lot more to that midfield,” Carragher said on Sky Sports. “He will add everything: pace, strength and power. He will add more goals.
“Yes he had a good start to the season but those were the kind of games you’d expect Man United to beat.
“You’d expect one of the most expensive players in the world to dominate those games. Yet to really see it in the big games. We never saw that last season.”
Since his form improved after a proper pre-season and with the additions of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku from Everton, Pogba has yet to play in a big game.
He’ll hopefully return for United’s game at home to Newcastle United after the international break, and the first chance for him to show his impact in a big game, against top six opposition, will be United’s trip to Arsenal on December 2.
