Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been heavily complimented by a former teammate as one of the top professionals in the game.
Mkhitaryan started the season in fine form with two goals and five assists to his name but his performances soon tapered off much the same way as his club did.
The Armenian’s dip in form has coincided with a poor period for the Red Devils with losses against Huddersfield and Chelsea along with a draw against Liverpool allowing an eight point gap to open up between themselves and fierce rivals Manchester City.
Jose Mourinho has shown faith in the former Dortmund man, playing him despite his poor run of games, perhaps hoping he’d play through his frustrating form.
Sergey Krivstov though believes that the attacking midfielder’s talent largely comes down to his footballing intelligent.
According to NewsAM, Sergey said: “I have seen two unbelievable professionals in my life. The first is Henrikh Mkhitaryan who lives 24 hours thinking about football. The next is Dario Srna who trains in the pitch before a training in the gym.”
Henrikh had a disappointing start to his career at Old Trafford and was quickly removed from the starting XI by his manager.
It quickly became clear that the versatile winger would need a season’s worth of adjustment and after beginning this season with a series of good performances, most fans believed it was the correct call.
Since then however, Mkhitaryan has been largely absent in the three matches vs Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham, hardly providing any service to Romelu Lukaku who took the brunt of the blame.
It’s no surprise that the Armenian’s poor form has resulted in Lukaku’s lack of goal scoring but perhaps Paul Pogba’s absence has been the cause for the form of both the players.
