Manchester United confident Jose Mourinho will not join Paris Saint Germain next summer – report

Manchester United are confident that Jose Mourinho remains hungry for success at Old Trafford and will not leave the club over the summer, according to reports.

The 54-year-old spoke effusively about the French giants last month, labelling the project underway as “magic” and making a point of how his son prefers to visit the Parc des Princes over Old Trafford.

Mourinho’s comments riled some supporters and prompted reports claiming that PSG had contacted his agent, Jorge Mendes, over the possibility of the Portuguese taking over next summer.

But the Telegraph‘s James Ducker has claimed that Man United remain confident that Mourinho is hungry as ever and believe he won’t seek to move elsewhere in the summer.

The report also states that PSG have privately distanced themselves from links with Mourinho but remain unconvinced by manager Unai Emery.

We should note that all of the prattle surrounding Mourinho’s links with PSG – a seemingly regularly cited club for tenuous, baseless exit reports – was ignited by nothing more than the 54-year-old noting that he wouldn’t finish his career at Old Trafford, which is completely fair enough given he wants to manage for another 15 years.

And while the idea of Mourinho moving to France – a country he hasn’t yet conquered – makes sense, the idea of him jumping ship early does not. That is just not how the man works.
