Anthony Martial produced a scintillating attacking display out wide during Manchester United’s 4-1 win over Newcastle United on Saturday.
The Frenchman, who impressed during the international break, added his seventh goal of the season after leaping high to head home Paul Pogba’s cross in the first half.
And he continued to harass full-back Javier Manquillo on the left hand side as the game went on with a series of piercing runs, pinning the visitors back as United took control soon after falling behind.
Martial’s stats from the game shed light on what was a penetrating performance from start to finish.

Focus will inevitably fall on the magnificent comebacks for both Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, along with Romelu Lukaku’s return to goalscoring form, but supporters ought to take extreme confidence from the way Martial continued to steamroll opponents and managed to link up well with Marcus Rashford in the second half.
The close control, vision, and sheer ferociousness offered by Martial on the ball is simply too good to leave out. But Martial has not only rediscovered the rampaging style of his opening campaign and built on it; he has actively refined other aspects of his game.
Positioning, weight of pass, runs in the channels, overall strength, defensive work. All of these attributes have developed under Mourinho, and supporters will just hope he continues to receive chances to further evolve this season.
