Rio Ferdinand has instructed Marcus Rashford to improve his finishing to take his game to the next level.

The youngster ended a mini-drought at Man United as he netted the winner for the Reds against CSKA Moscow in a 2-1 win in the UEFA Champions League.

His movement, footwork and pace was astonishingly good on Tuesday night as he has continued to impress throughout a mini-drought.

“You just hope that the finishing part of his game keeps developing because every other part of his game just looks so mature,” Ferdinand said after the game on BT Sport.

“He’s electrifying with his movement and you wouldn’t want to play against him because he tests you all over the park.”

Rashford now has eight goals and seven assist this season, a fantastic return for a 20-year-old playing on the left flank in almost every appearance of his this season.

He’s one of United’s most exciting and entertaining players, constantly bombing past defenders and leaving them for dead. There is no doubt of his talent, and it’s fantastic to see him back on the scoresheet.

His performances without goals have been good, a huge positive for a young striker. Rashford is not only mature on the pitch, but incredibly composed off it, too.

Post-match interviews with Rashford are straight-forward, a laugh here and there, but never straying from the ‘book’. He’s a manager’s dream, and a fans’ dream.
