Manchester United academy product Marcus Rashford came to supporters’ aide with the equalising goal just before half time.
The Red Devils found themselves undone by a set-piece with Manchester City’s David Silva managing to poke his shot past David de Gea.
The away team’s goal left the home fans feeling a little nervy, worrying that a rout was in store but Rashford helped inspire his teammates once more by capitalising on City’s defensive error.
Known for his derby performances, Marcus may have just been picked by Jose Mourinho for the match due to his record and the youngster repaid the faith.
Having played alongside Romelu Lukaku for a handful of games this season, Mourinho moved the Englishman out wide in order to cope with the opposition’s attacks but it Rashford who found himself on the scoresheet.

Rashford has picked a good time to be clinical! Need to change the approach in the second half to be in with a chance.

The two player’s friendly rivalry for game time has brought out the best out of them both and fans will hope that it continues producing results.
Supporters and perhaps Mourinho will be hoping that the dangerous duo will have a future of partnering each other up front for Manchester United.
Lukaku’s arrival at Old Trafford may have delayed or tempered with this vision but it’s without a doubt that all three players will become key players for United on a regular basis.
