Ander Herrera tells Jesse Lingard to keep shooting with “everything” going right for him

Ander Herrera has hailed the form of his Manchester United teammate Jesse Lingard after he scored another screamer for the Reds.

Lingard struck on the half-volley having taken just one touch after a lay-off on the edge of the box from Paul Pogba. It swerved beautifully into the top right corner for the Englishman’s 11th goal of the season.

He’s now scored or assisted 10 goals in his last 11 games for Man United and is in the form of his life.

Jesse Lingard is on fire now,” Herrera said.

The Spaniard, who had one of his best performances of the season, has advised Lingard to keep on shooting given his recent form.

“He has to keep on trying to shoot. He’s in that moment where everything goes well. But he deserves it, he’s constantly moving.”

Of Lingard’s goals this season, very few have been simple. He’s missed easy chances. Against Burnley, for example, he missed from five yards out, striking the goalkeeper in the face with his effort. But a few minutes later, he scored with a backheel flick into the far bottom corner.

He doesn’t do the basic, and he’s got to keep shooting from long-range because it’s having huge, huge rewards.

He’s the most in-form player in the Premier League at the moment, and is quickly cementing himself as one of United’s most important figures.
