Manchester United consider replacing Zlatan Ibrahimovic with Andrea Belotti: report

Manchester United are reportedly considering Torino’s Andrea Belotti as a replacement for current Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The 36 year old is currently injured for his club once more with some fans believing he rushed back too quickly from the previous serious injury he picked up in the Europa League last season.

Most supporters expected him to return by the start of this year but instead Ibrahimovic was available for selection, quite incredibly, in November.

Since then he’s managed to score a single goal in the League Cup and has made seven total appearances with five of them coming as a substitute as United attempted to ease him back into matters.

However, it seems as though it was still a little too quick for the striker who has suffered another knee injury and it may be enough to convince Jose Mourinho instead to invest in another forward, possibly Belotti.

According to 101 Great Goals, journalist Duncan Castles has linked Andrea to the Red Devils and claims he is one of the targets on the club’s list to replace Zlatan.

With the Swedish legend’s contract ending in the summer, most fans don’t expect to see him remain at Old Trafford for a third season.

In fact, most supporters thought they saw the last of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in that fateful Europa League tie, especially because the club released him when his contract ran out last year.

However, it’s since become clear that Manchester United were simply waiting to see how would recover before offering to sign him once more for, reportedly, half his previous wages.
