Manchester United target and Dutch youngster Justin Kluivert has come out recently to discuss just exactly what happened when he spoke with Jose Mourinho previously.
The pair were spotted speaking to each other after United beat Ajax in the Europa League final last season and it appeared as though some warm words were exchanged.
The encounter helped spark rumours of the club’s interest in Kluivert, especially as he’s one of football’s bright young talents.
The Red Devils also made it public of their interest in a winger and he fits the mould of player that they’re even currently still looking for.
Mourinho himself has also spoken about the incident since but it’s the first time the wide-man has opened up about the matter.
According to Football Oranje, Justin said to AD: “He just liked to see me. Mourinho knows me from the time that I was a little boy and my father played at Barcelona when Mourinho worked there as an assistant trainer.”
Justin Kluivert could very much represent a good investment for Manchester United to make if they eventually decided to make a bid for him.
The 18 year old is typically a left winger but is just as comfortable on the opposite flank, particularly because he is two footed.
The club’s lack of width has been well documented by fans and pundits alike with a real need for Jose to invest in the area.
Young and with bags of potential, now may be the perfect time to sign Justin given that his contract ends next season in 2019 and is likely to be relatively cheap.
