Manchester United fans were happy to see their star striker Romelu Lukaku get on the scoresheet at Old Trafford as the hosts ran out 3-0 winners.
Lukaku’s hold up play and link up play were both fully tested on Monday night against a stubborn Stoke side who were carved open by two beautiful goals.
United dominated the game from start to finish and it’s fair to say that they perhaps should’ve scored more had they been more clinical.
Either way, supporters were delighted with the win and encouraged by Romelu’s goalscoring display, may be a sign of things to come for him.
Lukaku has deserved his goal. Been wonderful linking up with his teammates. Overall game has certainly improved. Fantastic tonight.

Lukaku has been immense tonight. The control and goal was so clinical. 17th of the season, not bad at all!

Lukaku might not be scoring as regularly, but his overall play compared to the start of the season is like chalk and cheese.

Romelu Lukaku’s biggest criticism this season has been his lack of firepower during the big matches of the season, often accused of only scoring against smaller teams and it’s hard to deny the statement.
The former Everton forward’s goal today had no definite impact on the points won by his team, simply killing off Stoke instead.
There’s no doubt that it’s only a matter of time before Lukaku starts to singlehandedly win points for Manchester United but it is yet to come.
At 24 years of age there’s a few things the goalscorer can work on such as variety in his movement in the box or his infamous first touch.
His touch has certainly improved while under Jose Mourinho’s management but Romelu is found too often making the similar run to the far post when inside opposition boxes, frustrating his teammates.
