Manchester United fans hail Paul Pogba’s performance vs Stoke

Manchester United fans were absolutely delighted with Paul Pogba’s performance vs Stoke at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Monday night.

The Red Devils took apart the away side with relative ease, finishing the game with three goals to their name and having kept a clean sheet.

Much of their good play came through their star player Pogba who controlled the match from the start to the finish, grabbing an assist along the way.

The Frenchman showed off his passing range on the pitch, consistently finding his teammates in good positions whether it was from a short distance or a long one.

Perhaps fans enjoyed watching Paul more so than they did United as the midfielder helped his side to all three points at home.

There were initial fears from fans that Paul Pogba was placed in the centre of midfield in a 4-2-3-1 formation, having seen the recent success of the club in a 4-3-3.

Although a front four of Romelu Lukaku, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial suggests plenty of pace and goals, it doesn’t bring out the best of the former Juventus man.

Pogba has clearly played better in a more free role in a three man midfield and it quickly became clear that Lingard was actually playing in a deeper position as a central midfielder.

Both players were allowed to roam and did so excellently, often running into spaces from deep to cause confusion amongst Stoke’s defensive ranks.

Jose Mourinho has finally found the system to get the best out of his star player and it’s no surprise to see United play well when Paul does.
