Alexis Sanchez could join Manchester United this month as part of a straight swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to sources at Sky Sports.
Man United entered pole position to sign the Chile international last weekend by offering Arsenal more than Manchester City as well as the services of Mkhitaryan, who has fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho this term.
Mkhitaryan’s agent, Mino Raiola, stressed on Tuesday that any deal for Sanchez was contingent on his client striking a deal with Arsenal.
And according to Sky Sports, there is a possibility that Mkhitaryan could join the Gunners in a straight swap with Sanchez this month.

You get the sense that Raiola, after a few days of quiet, is now erupting onto this saga in his usually bombastic way.
The consensus beforehand was that United were using Mkhitaryan as an added incentive to a lucrative cash deal to sign Sanchez, but Raiola has altered the dynamic, insisting that it was firmly down to the Armenian to decide whether this deal goes through.
He is forcing Arsenal to give his client greater respect – to treat him as a central figure in this saga and, as such, provide Mkhitaryan with a healthy package, taking a plentiful sum for himself as well.
This is not where Arsenal wanted to be: selling Sanchez was supposed to free up funds for them to go big over the summer or in January, but now they’re being forced to settle for Mourinho’s deadwood.
