Manchester United are reportedly going to war with French giants PSG for former Real Madrid and out of contract star Lassana Diarra.
In what is perhaps the most bizarre transfer news to come out this window for the Red Devils, they have suddenly become interested in the midfielder.
United’s concerns in the engine room are widely recognised and so perhaps it’s not too surprising to see them linked to a decent, experienced player in the form of Diarra.
Currently the club look overstocked in the middle of the park but fans will know that there are some issues that will surface in the near future.
The Frenchman though could maybe represent a cheap option to invest in until Jose Mourinho’s side could find long term solutions.
According to 101 Great Goals, Le Parisien report that Lassana has attracted interest from both the Red Devils and PSG with the Frenchman preferring going back to his home country.
However, Fellaini’s contract ends in the summer, Carrick is expected to become a coach, McTominay is still learning his trade and Herrera has failed to continue his incredible form last season.
This leaves United shockingly short of talent in midfield with just Matic and Pogba representing quality options and with the club recently succeeding in a 4-3-3 formation, a move for Lassana Diarra could just be the right transfer to make.
