Manchester United fans had every right to be happy with Anthony Martial‘s performance vs Burnley after the former AS Monaco man scored the opener.
Jose Mourinho’s side weren’t at their best in the first half but came alive in the second half thanks to the Frenchman’s accurate effort.
With news of Alexis Sanchez’s transfer almost complete, supporters were worried what this would mean for Martial who’s had a great season so far.
The Chilean will surely have to slot into the right side of the attack given the youngster’s good form and goal return.
Anthony’s displays are even more encouraging given they come from a position that he doesn’t consider to be his best- the left wing.
Brilliant from Lukaku. Could have played in Lingard but delayed and gave it to Martial instead. Good finish from Martial. Again.

Lukaku comes alive. Shrugs off a defender, runs down the right, turns and switches it to Martial. He stands up the defender and pings it in off the crossbar. Lukaku was terrific there. #mufc

Whilst the Englishman has shown signs of his youth by going through spells of inconsistencies, the Frenchman has performed whenever called upon.
Should Martial continue to deliver consistently then there’s no reason why he can’t find himself leading the line for the Red Devils.
No one truly expects both youngsters to be left wingers forever and are simply playing there due to United’s lack of options as well as the pair learning their trade from a relatively safer position.
Although Romelu Lukaku is undoubtedly the club’s first choice option as a striker but perhaps Anthony’s form will make the manager consider a two striker formation.
