Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been so impressed by Luke Shaw‘s recent form that he’s decided to end pursuits for other players.
The Englishman had seen his position come under threat at Old Trafford after failing to win over the Portuguese manager since joining the club.
Shaw arrived at United under Louis Van Gaal‘s management and it was the Dutchman who initially questioned the player’s attitude.
Mourinho had also failed to see the good in the youngster and appeared to be willing to look elsewhere in order to solve the club’s left-back issue.
However, recent reports state that the former Chelsea manager’s been impressed with the full-back after he came into the side to take over from Ashley Young during the veterans suspension.
According to Team Talk, The Independent report that Jose has been impressed with Luke and is willing to shelf plans to sign Alex Sandro and Danny Rose for the time being.
The Red Devils have a number of players capable of playing in the left-back spot but none have truly claimed the position as their own.
Rojo has found himself to be a more capable centre-back whilst Darmian has proven to be an incapable defender regardless of whichever flank he played on.
Blind’s lack of pace has been exposed on a number of occasions and to the credit of Young he’s been the best there so far this season.
However, he’s clearly not a long term solution and so it’s good to see Shaw improve in recent matches enough to convince Jose Mourinho to put a hold on plans for a replacement.
