Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing a replacement for David de Gea should he decide to leave amidst Real Madrid’s interest.
The Spanish goalkeeper is arguably the club’s best player and has been the subject of transfer rumours ever since he started to perform for United.
Madrid previously had their chance at signing De Gea and failed to do so with the former Atletico Madrid man since renewing his contract.
However, Real’s poor form has meant that they’re ready to splash the cash on ‘galactico’ players once more and it seems that they’re serious in their attempt to pry him from Jose Mourinho’s hands.
It appears that the Portuguese manager may even be considering giving up on his key man and has set his sights on two goalkeepers that could possibly replace the 27 year old.
According to the Daily Star, Don Balon report that Jose wants either Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak or Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer to replace David.
These reports of David de Gea leaving has been the opposite of what has emerged in recent days that seemed to suggest that he was going to remain at Old Trafford.
The Spaniard was recently interviewed stating that he’s loved his time at Manchester United and also previously spoke of how he’s slowly realised how big the club is.
His comments seem to indicate that he has no interest in leaving but reports have continued to grow on Real Madrid and De Gea coming to agreement.
Should United even consider to sell him, it’s unlikely that’ll it’ll happen now in the short time remaining in the January transfer window.
