Marca: Real Madrid prepared to sell Manchester United target Gareth Bale in the summer

Real Madrid will put Manchester United target Gareth Bale on the market in the summer, according to Spanish media outlet Marca.

Jose Mourinho admitted prior to Man United’s meeting with Real in the UEFA Super Cup that he would move to sign Bale if he was surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu.

The Welshman didn’t go anywhere in the end, but continued injury problems and Real’s poor league form this season has made it likely that he’ll be moved on among others in the summer.

And according to Marca‘s Carlos Carpio, the European champions are prepared to offload Bale in the next transfer window as Florentino Perez plans a potentially historic spending spree to close the gap with Barcelona.

Bale recovered from further hamstring problems in December and enjoyed a positive run of games following the winter break, but he finds himself on the periphery under Zinedine Zidane once again and unlikely to usurp the highly promising talent of Marco Asensio any time soon.

A move away seems like the logical decision but whether Mourinho, who has insisted that he doesn’t want to add any further attacking options, wants to spend valuable time trying to secure his signature remains to be seen.
