Manchester United legend Gary Neville is not concerned with Marcus Rashford‘s current situation at the club despite what rumours may suggest.
Many pundits such as Jamie Redknapp have suggest that the youngster has to leave his team if he wishes to play more after Alexis Sanchez’s arrival.
The Chilean moved to United over the January transfer window and concerns were immediately raised of what it could mean for Rashford’s game time.
The Englishman currently plays in Sanchez’s preferred position on the left wing and has hardly had a sniff in recent matches.
Neville though believes there’s nothing to worry about when it comes to Marcus, believing that rotation at the start of one’s career is completely normal.
According to Give Me Sport, Gary said on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday Super 6 Facebook Live: “He’s had a lot of playing time this season, he took part in nearly all the games until a few weeks ago.
“When you are a young player coming into the team you’re not going to play every single game until the end of your career – Giggs is the exception.
“It’s not unusual for a young forward to be in and out of the team, and it’s something [being rotated] that I would have expected. If I thought he wasn’t in favour I would be worried, but I think Mourinho has shown he likes Rashford.”
The academy product’s situation is another one that’s currently being blown up by most sections of the media with Paul Pogba being the other.
Marcus Rashford‘s poor form for the Red Devils coincided with Alexis’ move to Old Trafford as any keen observer of the club would realise.
However, pundits who don’t necessarily watch Jose Mourinho’s men week in and week in such as Gary Neville may do, would connect the two dots believing they relate to each other.
However, Rashford’s performances have dipped for a while, so much so that Anthony Martial won the race for the left wing spot before Alexis Sanchez’s arrival.
In fact, the Frenchman’s form was so impressive that he won the January player of the month award for Manchester United.
