Ander Herrera makes debatable claim on Manchester United’s season

Manchester United’s Ander Herrera has claimed he would agree to a deal that meant his side win the Champions League and Manchester City win the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho’s men are all but out of the title race but are still in the FA Cup and Champions League cup competitions.

With City over ten points ahead of United and there being just eight games left, most neutrals have admitted that it’s just a matter of time until the title is wrapped.

Most supporters expect Mourinho to attempt to win the FA Cup and hold down second place in the league in order to conclude a decent season.

However, Herrera has gone a step further by claiming he would shake hands on a deal that meant they would win Europe’s elite competition and let the Sky Blues win the domestic league.

According to the Mirror, Ander said: “I don’t think about City, just about us. To win the Champions League would be enormous for us. Massive.

“So if you said City win the title and we win the Champions League this time I would sign that document right now.

“People forget that it’s still possible for us to win two big titles this season – the Champions League and FA Cup. We are still in the race for both. It could be an adventure to do it.”

Winning the Champions League would certainly be an incredible feat in Jose’s second season in charge of the Red Devils but the bittersweet feeling of missing out on the Premier League would definitely be at the back of fans’ minds.

The Portuguese manager is not expected to challenge for European silverware just yet but his side are expected to reach a respectable position this season.

With Sevilla being the team who are stopping Manchester United from reaching the quarter finals, most expect the players to win with relative ease.

A goalless draw puts Jose Mourinho’s players under pressure to win at Old Trafford but it’s a result many anticipate.
