Manchester United star Ashley Young has insisted that Jose Mourinho knows how to handle his players after recent criticism has risen of his methods.
The Portuguese manager has been in the spotlight of late for not just his handling of Paul Pogba but also Luke Shaw.
Critics have claimed that Mourinho is abusing his players and failing to bring out the best out of them since he’s shattering their confidence.
The former Chelsea man also reportedly had a fallout with his players at Stamford Bridge and Real Madrid as well which ultimately led to his sacking.
Young though believes that Jose’s record speaks for itself and that no manager could be successful without being capable in man management.
According to Calcio Mercato, Ashley said to BBC Sport: “I don’t think he would have been that successful if he didn’t know how to handle players.
“We know as players we go out onto the training pitch and work hard, but when you can, he has a laugh and joke, so he’s got both sides to him and that’s the best way for a manager to be.”
The Englishman has had an interesting season so far with fans initially believing he was one of the players who should be moved on by the upcoming summer.
However it’s fair to say that Ashley Young has probably changed some of their minds with his recent form in the left-back position.
The versatile player started the campaign as a back up player but has slowly worked his way into Jose Mourinho’s first team plans.
Consistently a hard worker, Young proved his worth many times before completely winning the left-back spot from the other candidates in the club.
Ashley’s resilience and form though found him becoming a starter once more and back in the international fold with England.
