Jose Mourinho plotting summer move for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey – report

Jose Mourinho has pinpointed Aaron Ramsey as an ideal midfield reinforcement for Manchester United in the summer, according to reports.

The Portuguese will need to make at least one reinforcement in that area ahead of Michael Carrick‘s retirement in the summer, with doubt surrounding the futures of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera as well.

Man United expressed interest in Ramsey back when he was a teenager playing for Cardiff, only for the Welshman to opt for Arsenal instead.

And according to the Daily Star‘s David Woods, Mourinho sees Ramsey’s all-action, box-to-box style in the middle as the final piece of his midfield jigsaw ahead of next season.

Ramsey goes against a trend set by British footballers by possessing a genuinely refined technical skill-set, battling a truly horrific injury as a youngster to establish a place in Arsene Wenger’s side.

But does he have the grit – the cojones, shall we say – to play under Mourinho? Would he be able to mix his charm on the ball with the ugly, gritty side of the game?

At Arsenal, we will never find out. Ramsey will always fall under the umbrella of a wider problem at the Emirates yet often receives specific criticism from Gooners for his performances.

Maybe his performance at Euro 2016 for Wales, where he displayed a genuine spirit for the occasion and took responsibility on the pitch, provides a better impression of what he could be like under the United boss.
