Manchester United may have to keep an eye on their player Ander Herrera after recent reports have linked him with AC Milan.
The Spaniard hasn’t had the brightest of seasons this year but is still widely regarded as a player Jose Mourinho would not let move on.
It was under the Portuguese manager that Herrera enjoyed his finest ever campaign in the famous red shirt which makes his poor form this season even more difficult to explain.
The former Atletico Bilbao man was brought in by former United manager Louis Van Gaal and has made a decent number of appearances since.
His contract was initially expected to expire this season but there have been claims that the club triggered a one year extension.
According to Caught Offside, Mundo Deportivo report that the Italian giants are willing to spend €36m in order to pry Ander away from Old Trafford.
The 28 year old’s contract extension though may not save him from leaving the Red Devils since Mourinho may just been trying to avoid losing him for free.
However, Ander Herrera‘s place in the squad may be safe for a different reason. A lack of options by the start of next season may force his manager into rethinking any plans of selling him.
This would leave Jose with just Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic as the club’s senior central midfield options.
