Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has arrived in Manchester amid rumours suggesting his client could join Manchester United in the summer.
The Italian has enjoyed a superb campaign with Napoli this season and his agent noted earlier this year that they would consider a move away.
Man United are said to be keen on securing the midfielder’s services this summer but Santos claimed just a few days ago that no contact had been established with Jose Mourinho’s side.
But according to TMW, Santos has arrived in Manchester today ahead of potential talks with United.
The 26-year-old has also been linked with Liverpool and it cannot be ruled out that Santos is in the Northwest for talks with the Merseyside club instead, but with Naby Keita – a player whose box-to-box style and creative impetus on the ball aligns closely with that of Jorginho – arriving in the summer their need for the Italian is not as strong as that of United.
Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick will no longer be part of Mourinho’s squad in June and the 55-year-old, in turn, cannot afford to wait until after the World Cup – where he will have just a month window to get deals done due to new transfer regulations – to secure adequate replacements.
