Paul Pogba’s super agent Mino Raiola has claimed that Manchester United bought Paul Pogba for cheap given the type of money that’s now involved in modern football.
According to Transfermarkt, the Frenchman was bought by Jose Mourinho for a little under £100m which was at the time a world record fee.
Neymar’s transfer to PSG from Barcelona blew that fee out of the water this summer and so Raiola believes his client was in hindsight sold for cheap.
Pogba’s transfer fee chased him wherever he went for his first season at United and while the Brazilians transfer to France has taken some pressure off him, some sections of the media still use it as a stick to beat him with.
Despite his recent poor form the former Juventus star started this campaign in fine form to prove that his first season with the club was simply a transitional one.
According to the Express, Mino said to Quote: “As long as the television rights keep going up, the actors deserve to be paid more. I don’t push prices over the limit. On the contrary, look at Pogba’s transfer.
“Manchester United paid £100m – but I think they should have paid £200m. Pogba was a cheap player. He had a clause in his contract that said he alone – and not Juventus – was allowed to decide where he was going to play next season.”
Paul has come in the spotlight lately but mostly due to his reportedly poor relationship with Mourinho with some rumours claiming his future at the club is under risk.
Although the pair have been spotted multiple times embracing and smiling with each other, reports claim it’s all a facade and the two are in complete communication break down.
The current international break has done nothing but add to these rumours but the hopes are that Paul Pogba returns to Old Trafford a player in better form than when he left it.
With the Red Devils’ campaign soon coming to a close they have to finish the season strong and will need their star player back to his best.
