AS Monaco have reportedly joined the race for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini with his future still uncertain.
Despite Jose Mourinho’s public support of the Belgian, no new developments have taken place with fans yet to hear about a contract renewal.
Fellaini is rumoured to be upset with his back-up role and hopes to move to a club that can guarantee him first team football.
The former Everton man has often been the go-to scapegoat for fans and it’s no surprise to see him wish to leave despite his manager’s adoration for him.
With Michael Carrick set to retire at the end of the current season, the 30 year old’s desire to leave couldn’t be more poorly planned.
According to Who Scored, La Dernier Heure report that the Ligue 1 side have entered the race for Marouane whose contracts runs out in the summer.
Mourinho has publicly stated his satisfaction with his attackers and has claimed he will focus on United’s midfield and defence.
However, if Jose is forced into focussing on two missing midfield men instead of one then he may find it more difficult to navigate his way through the transfer window.
The good news for the Portuguese manager is that he has two youngsters returning from loan who could potentially help shore up the club’s depth with Andreas Pereira and Timothy Fosu-Mensah keen on being a part of the first team.
