Manchester United fans were pleased with Jesse Lingard‘s performance vs Swansea despite not picking up an assist or a goal.
The Englishman continued his fine form from his international duties and was instrumental in the club’s 2-0 win over the visitors.
Lingard’s link up play was what saw him being hailed by supporters as he buzzed around the pitch to help United start brightly.
Jose Mourinho’s men were 2-0 up within 20 mins thanks to efforts from Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku but the academy product wasn’t forgotten about.
Playing his preferred number ten role, Jesse was unlucky to not grab a goal of his own but will surely have done enough to give his manager a selection headache.
Lingard is magic in that 10 role. Really is. His season this season.

Lingard finding space off the front key to both United goals. Getting to be very good in that No.10 role.

Lingard not only going but should be starting at the World Cup imo. Movement is superb. Why he still receives criticism is beyond me. Understand football and you understand what he brings. Lovely weight on ball to Sanchez as well. #MUFC

Absolute class from Lingard again. Plays the through ball and Sanchez emphatically finishes. One of the best spells of football all season from United. #mufc

Jesse Lingard has quite possibly been the Red Devils most improved player this season with him at least being the squad’s surprising performer.
Now with the arrival of Alexis Sanchez threatening him once more, Lingard has still managed to win his place back in the starting XI.
Rashford and Martial were both forced to watch from the bench while the 25 year old went about his business on the pitch.
If Jesse continues his fine form then he’ll truly cement his place in the line up in a way that is similar to how Romelu Lukaku has done this season.
