Jamie Redknapp has claimed that Manchester United stars Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba both made statements during their victory over Tottenham.
Jose Mourinho’s men travelled to Wembley for the FA Cup semi-final and managed to overcome their opponents by securing a comeback win.
Pogba and Sanchez both started the match and played crucial roles in helping United into yet another FA Cup final.
The pair of superstars have been heavily criticised since moving to Old Trafford but they defied their critics last Sunday.
Redknapp believes their performances can be the start of something good for the Red Devils and supporters are surely hoping the same.
According to the Sport Review, Jamie said to the Daily Mail: “This was a statement from Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba. After struggling to hit the heights this season, Manchester United’s most talented players came to the party when it mattered at Wembley.
“The way the misfiring stars combined for United’s equaliser could well be a turning point in their Old Trafford careers.”
Critics have been a little more harsh with Alexis than they have been with Paul in the sense that the former only just completed a transfer to the club in January.
All players need time to adjust to their new surroundings but especially ones who’ve made the switch during the middle of the season.
Paul Pogba has also been criticised for failing to be consistent with even his manager asking for more stable performances.
Mourinho discussed how he didn’t expect man of the match performances from his players but to at least get the basics done in matches.
