Nemanja Matic: I am happy with how Manchester United played against Chelsea

Manchester United star Nemanja Matic has insisted he was happy with how the team played despite losing in the FA Cup final against his former side Chelsea.

Antonio Conte’s men scraped by with a 1-0 result after Eden Hazard scored the only goal of the game through a penalty that was given away by Phil Jones.

United were miserable in the first half and had around an hour to turn the game on it’s head but couldn’t even grab an equaliser despite improving in the second half.

Many fans were furious with how Jose Mourinho set his team up but it appears that Matic was satisfied with the style of play and puts the result down to luck.

The Red Devils were certainly dominant in some aspects but failed to show their clinical nature in a match where it was desperately needed.

Nemanja started the match in a midfield diamond playing with Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Ander Herrera which allowed them to dominate possession in the midfield.

It was the same tactics Mourinho used to help Manchester United beat the Blues earlier in the season but it was Conte who had the last laugh this time around as he learnt from past mistakes.
