Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly promoted Kieran McKenna after Rui Faria’s recently announced departure.
The Portuguese boss is set to lose his right hand man with the duo having worked together for a period of 17 years.
Faria has decided to call time on his days as an assistant manager to Mourinho as he looks forward to becoming a successful manager on his own.
However, he won’t jump right into another managerial job right away despite being linked to the Arsenal and Benfica jobs as he hopes to take a sabbatical to be with his family.
The decision has left the former Real Madrid manager without an assistant for the first time in his career.
According to Metro, Duncan Castles has claimed that McKenna has been promoted from the academy to become a part of Jose’s staff.
The relatively young coach arrived from Tottenham two seasons ago but already has a growing reputation in football due to his attacking style and success.
Kieran’s U18’s side won the Premier League northern division much to the delight of many fans and so perhaps he can help Jose Mourinho win the competition for the senior team too in the boss’s third season in charge.
