Elseid Hysaj’s agent Mario Giuffredi has disappointingly insisted that his client will remain with Napoli despite being linked with several clubs.
Manchester United have been said to be chasing the full-back since the winter transfer window and have now had any hopes of completing the deal dashed.
Hysaj fits the mould of player that Jose Mourinho is searching for as he hopes to revamp his defensive forces in the upcoming summer.
Giuffredi did leave a small crack in the door though, deciding against completely shutting it as the Portuguese manager could make a move regardless.
Elseid’s ability to play on either flank will certainly appeal to Mourinho as well and it’s said he won’t cost United that much either.
According to 101 Great Goal, Mario said to Radio CrC: “He’s a Napoli player and he’ll remain in Naples. We’ve also started talking about a new contract.
“He’s very young and from next year he’d only have two years on his contract. Talks have already begun with Napoli, then if they want to send him away… I don’t think that will happen though.”
With reports claiming the Italian is set to complete a transfer any day now to Juventus, it would free up a spot to sign Elseid Hysaj should it still be possible.
Although Valencia has the trust of Jose, it’s clear that more quality is needed in Manchester United’s full-back positions.
