West Ham star Marko Arnautovic has admitted it’s an honour to be followed by Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.
The former Stoke man has become a surprise target for the Portuguese manager with some reports claiming a bid of £50m will be incoming.
It’s said that Mourinho is looking for a physical presence up top to provide back up for Romelu Lukaku whenever he’s not available.
Th Belgian’s injury towards the end of the season saw United struggle to gain any results and so the former Real Madrid manager must’ve been concerned.
Arnautovic would surely cost too much should those reports have any truth in them though the early consensus from fans is that it would be a daft signing.
According to Sport Witness, Marko said: “It is a great honour for our entire team that a coach like Mourinho is watching us.”
Jose had insisted earlier in the season that he would not be adding to his attacking options this summer as he’s happy with his current squad.
The tactician instead will focus on revamping his defence and midfield, particularly with Michael Carrick having retired.
Other than the former Everton man, there’s no real physical presence in a side managed by a manager who likes to play direct football.
