The Spaniard hasn’t had the best of seasons this time around but did well enough to secure the last individual trophy of the season.
Herrera, who isn’t in the squad for his national side that’s going to the World Cup, previously won the Player of the Year award last season.
The tenacious midfielder was one of Jose Mourinho’s most trusted players in the last campaign but unfortunately injuries scuppered his chances this time around.
Both Young and Smalling also had a great end to their respective seasons but were blown out of the water by the votes for the former Atletico Bilbao man.
According to the club’s official website, Ander won the Player of the Month award of May by a whopping 53% vote from fans who picked him ahead of Ashley (31%) and Chris (16%).
Louis van Gaal was the man who originally brought the 28 year old to United but his best performances have actually come under Mourinho.
The month of May wasn’t a good one by any means for the Red Devils as they lost the FA Cup final and limped to second place in the Premier League but at least Ander Herrera can be proud of his own performances.
