Diogo Dalot set for Manchester United medical: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United target Diogo Dalot is set to have his medical soon as he edges nearer and nearer towards a Porto exit.

The youngster has been linked with joining Jose Mourinho’s side since it suddenly being announced that his release clause was triggered.

United are said to be hoping Dalot would be the heir to Antonio Valencia in the right-back spot, particularly with Matteo Darmian‘s transfer to Juventus being imminent.

The Italian’s departure is said to be what funds the move for the Porto man and so that could explain why there are delays in official announcements.

Either way Mourinho will be keen to wrap up deals for his transfer targets as soon as possible with the World Cup lurking around the corner.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Daily Mail report Diogo is set to have a medical with the Red Devils next week despite a fee not being agreed just yet.

It was initially reported that the full-back’s release clause was triggered but it appears sections of the media have backtracked on what’s been said.

Manchester United’s interest though is reported to be genuine and they don’t believe that there will be any complications in completing the deal.
