Manchester United in ‘advanced talks’ for trio – report

Manchester United are reportedly at an advanced stage in negotiations for three summer transfer targets – Diogo Dalot, Alex Sandro and Fred.

Jose Mourinho wants competition for Antonio Valencia, a full-time left-back and a replacement for Michael Carrick and he is seemingly set to receive all three sooner rather than later.

Brazilian duo Sandro and Fred are top priorities ahead of the 2018-19 season and could cost up to £100m, while Portugal under-21 international Dalot looks set to arrive after his £17.5m release clause at FC Porto was triggered.

Daily Record journalist Duncan Castles, who got the exclusive on the latter’s impending move to Old Trafford, reported on Saturday night that Man United are now in ‘advanced talks’ to sign all three players.

He also mentions that Mourinho entered the summer transfer window prioritising his defence and midfield, an judging by the rumoured targets that’s exactly what he is doing.

Juventus’ Sandro and Porto’s Dalot might not be the only defenders joining United over the next couple of months either, with Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Toby Alderweireld being heavily pursued in a bid worth £50m.

United reportedly want to announce the signing of Fred next week, and two more major announcements could quickly follow if Castles has a genuine scoop with this story.
