Eric Bailly is currently in his home country Ivory Coast to film for a special documentary that will air on Manchester United club TV channel MUTV.
The documentary will surround all aspects of Bailly’s life and how he got to where he is today, Man United’s no 3, as the club attempt to give fans a greater insight into one of its most popular players.
Jose Mourinho made the 24-year-old his first signing as United manager completely out of the blue on 8 June 2016 – back at that time he was a promising centre-back who had just two seasons of first-team football under his belt with Villareal.
Bailly almost instantly turned into a fan favourite after a brilliant start to life in England and is recognised as the strongest option Mourinho has in his position.
Injuries have plagued his short time at the club so far though and he was limited to just 18 appearances throughout the 2017-18 season as Chris Smalling and Phil Jones were utilised as the first-choice partnership.
The future is still bright for Bailly though and there is now the exciting prospect of a partnership with Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Toby Alderweireld for the 2018-19 campaign and onwards if United are successful in their £50m pursuit.
His documentary will certainly be worth a watch and let’s hope that we see more of his fruitful personality and quality defending on and off the pitch next term.
