Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their interest in Benfica midfielder Anderson Talisca by submitting a bid.
The Brazilian star has been linked with the club for a few weeks now and it appears Jose Mourinho is more serious about getting it done.
United’s interest in Talisca is meant to have grown due to Marouane Fellaini‘s inability to come to terms with his future at the club.
Ed Woodward is said to have given the Belgian a final offer though he’s apparently unhappy with it and won’t be renewing his contract.
Fellaini’s contract runs out this summer and so the Red Devils have submitted a bid around £35m though it’s been matched by two unnamed Chinese clubs according to O Jogo.
There’s hope though that Anderson can still be recruited despite the tonnes of cash the two unnamed clubs could offer him.
The talented midfielder isn’t expected to be a starter for Manchester United however and will play a role that’s similar to what Marouane did last season.
The former Everton man would often come off the bench to try to turn the game in Mourinho’s favour and would sometimes prove to be a useful back-up option to have just in case things go wrong.
