Manchester United target Aleksandr Golovin’s father has claimed his son is learning English ahead of a potential move to the Premier League.
Jose Mourinho has reportedly expressed an interest in the CSKA Moscow forward and was present to watch him in action against Austria in a friendly earlier this month.
He impressed Man United supporters with a lively display attacking through the centre during Russia’s thumping opening day 5-0 win over Saudi Arabia last week.
And his father, speaking to Komsomolskaya Pravda, has added further fuel to the fire by claiming his son was now taking English lessons.
“I know that Sasha has already started learning English,” he said.
Golovin is a player Mourinho likes. The 55-year-old spoke of him effusively on RT last week, hailing his unifying and galvanising role playing through the centre following Alan Dzagoev’s injury.
Moreover, he is a profile similar to that of Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sanchez in attacking midfield: diminutive, nimble in possession, sharp turning, quick across the ground, incisive in the box, adept at finding others.
Whether the club will expend resources on yet another attacking player remains to be seen, but interest in Golivin alone hints towards the kind of set-up Mourinho is going for next term.
